I have completed an EMDR International Association Approved Basic Training. I also use Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and psychodynamic techniques to personalize your therapy.

Getting your foot through the therapy door (or virtual waiting room) is an honorable step on your journey toward self-discovery and growth. Though taking that step is not always easy, it can lead to significant healing and transformation. My goal as a therapist is to create a space that allows for such transformation — a space that is warm, welcoming, and free of judgment, where you feel comfortable being open and being you.
My approach to therapy is eclectic and person-centered, meaning that I draw from many modalities to tailor the therapy to you and your needs. I may incorporate elements of psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and attachment-based therapy in our work together. I view therapy as an inherently collaborative process — we will work together to process your emotions, thoughts, and experiences, and move at a pace that feels right for you.
I have experience working in inpatient psychiatry, supporting adults experiencing serious mental illnesses, and in outpatient behavioral health, supporting adults with relationship challenges, anger management, identity exploration, substance use, career challenges, anxiety, and depression, among other issues impacting their everyday life. I value working with people from all backgrounds, and operate from a culturally humble, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and trauma-informed lens.

“When you treat someone as an individual and separate from their diagnosis, you are able to show genuine compassion which makes building trust much more natural”.
With over 17 years of experience supporting and advocating for individuals, families, and groups I have been able to impact many lives in a positive way. My approach is one that is strength based and focused on using the best approach that will fit the unique needs of the individual, family, or couple. I am a bilingual psychotherapist who is a licensed master’s social worker with fluency in English and Spanish. My approach is one of compassion and cultural humility. I believe that exploring past experiences and how they affect us in the present day helps to create a tomorrow filled with healing. Regardless of the diagnosis, I aim to collaborate with the individual to develop a treatment plan that is unique and meaningful to them and not a cookie cutter approach. Using a collaborative approach, we look at what is already working and use a solution focused approach to address the challenges. I work from a trauma informed lens with an emphasis on exploring how these experiences have shaped who we are today. Together we can explore different approaches using cognitive behavior techniques and a psychodynamic perspective to address negative thought patterns and challenges with navigating challenging relationships. Building trust is at the center of my clinical approach, as well as ensuring that the therapeutic relationship allows for a non-judgmental space where the individual can feel heard. I welcome you to book an appointment while I support you in exploring different techniques to address the presenting issues that you would like to work on. I also invite you to book an appointment so that we can explore what the issues may be if not yet identified.

Mi objetivo es crear un entorno terapéutico centrado en la persona al que te entusiasme entrar. Te invito a explorar un espacio donde te sientas apoyado y comprendido.
