Provider Spotlight: Philip Carroll, LMSW

A man with short dark hair and a beard, wearing a dark suit jacket over a blue shirt, sits and smiles at the camera while holding eyeglasses in one hand. The background is plain and light-colored.

Starting therapy can feel like a big deal, and honestly, it is. It takes courage to decide you want something different for yourself, whether that means working through anxiety, making sense of past experiences, or just getting a clearer picture of your own patterns and relationships.

Philip Carroll, LMSW works with patients at Park Psychological Services, offering a space that’s collaborative, unhurried, and genuinely tailored to you.

How Philip Works

Philip draws from several evidence-based approaches (psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and DBT) and blends them based on what actually fits the person in front of him. Some people need room to dig into the deeper stuff; others need concrete tools they can use right now. Often it’s both, and that mix can shift over time.

What He Specializes In

Philip has particular experience working with:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress
  • Depression
  • PTSD and trauma
  • OCD and ADHD
  • Relationship challenges
  • Men’s mental health
  • Long-term effects of childhood sexual abuse (CSA)

He’s especially passionate about working with trauma survivors, and takes care to move at a pace that feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

A Space Where You Can Be Yourself

Philip works with people of all identities and backgrounds, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, and is committed to making sure that whatever you bring into the room is met with respect, not judgment.

What Therapy With Philip Looks Like

Philip sees therapy as a real collaboration. You know your life better than anyone; his job is to help you look at it from new angles and figure out what you actually want to change. Over time, that might mean getting a handle on what’s driving certain patterns, building skills to navigate hard moments, or just feeling more like yourself again.
